Chitrakoot train accident: Vasco-D-Gama Patna Express derailed, three killed and 9 injured
Three people were killed in a train accident near Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, and nine others were injured in Vasco-De-Gamma Patna Express derailed three people in Chitrakoot. This incident happened at Manikpur station.
It is being told that the Vasco-De-Gamma Patna Express derailed. In this accident, 13 coaches of the train derailed, in which three people died. Nine people injured in this accident have been admitted to nearby hospital. The incident is about 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
Railway officials have left for the incident and are investigating the cause of the accident.
Railway spokesman Anil Saxena told that medical facilities are being given to the injured. We have sent the rescue and rescue team to the spot. The injured have been admitted to Manikpur and Chitrakoot Hospital. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is monitoring the accident. Railway Minister has directed the Chairman of the Railway Board to go to the spot.
Chitrakoot Superintendent of Police Pratap Gopendra Singh told that 12741 Vasco Da Gama Express, which was going to Patna from Goa, was passing through platform form number-2 of Manikpur junction at around 4:30 in the morning. As the train progressed a little further away from the platform, its thigh bins got derailed.
Singh said that three passengers were killed on the spot and nine passengers were injured in this accident. The condition of two of them is serious, who have been admitted to the district hospital. Other injured have been admitted to the local hospital. He said that due to this train accident, many trains have been affected in addition to trains going to Mumbai, Goa, and Patna. At present, rescue and relief work is in progress.
They said that no passenger coaches are now trapped in the coaches. Senior officials of Railway Department are arriving to the spot. Earlier, the North Central Railway Public Relations Officer Amit Malviya had said that relief and rescue work was going on fast. Railway officials have left for the spot.
